Thank you everyone of the kind words. I usually lose control when I start something new ;) So I have a lot of hostas, Tradescantias, Coleus and Marantas. And knitting and sewing. I'm preschool teacher and I have time to garden in summer. And my secret is that I don't post ugly ones, lol.

Sandylopes. My Midnight Oil is in sunny bed. Almost all my hostas are in the sun, but we here in Finland don't have too much sun for hostas, however not in our yard. We have trees around our yard. I feel that many of my hostas look little different and are lighter color than most of yours here forum. I think Midnight Oil will be darker in more shade.

I agree with the others Saija, even with your "secret" you have plenty of beauty to share here. My Midnight Oil is in shade except for a brief time from 11:00ish to 1:00ish with only full sun around noon. Of course, I neglected to get a photo this year.

It does get a bit darker later

The winner for the largest leaf / plant ratio is always Maggie May for me.

And with all the beautiful Moonstruck out there, I won't mind if a piece of my Moonstruck streaked wants to settle down (but not that solid eye that will need removed this year).

Old_dirt, I also had terrible cutworm damage last summer….don’t know if sluggo will work for that. I did my vinegar drenching,but that helped with the slugs only, did nothing for cutworms……🙁

Some years are worse than others for cutworm damage. It seems to start very early in spring when the leaves are a tight cluster before they unfurl. I never see them! Darn cutworms get started before I do in the spring. I don’t know what to do except hope for a winter that’s not giving them the conditions they thrive in.

Saija, I’m the same way when I like something. I tend to go overboard and get too many. People have told me I have so many plants in my yard, but I always want more. You have a lot plants to take care of in winter, too! Between you and Steve, I think I do want to try Midnight Oil and hope I find the right spot for it.

Steve, that’s interesting that MO can get darker later on in the season.
