Julien (Home Refinements) allows you to select the drain position, including left rear and left center. This is the 30" model I have and I selected a right rear drain and an integrated 18" drainboard on the left.

Use pull down a la carte options on the left to customize the sink.

I have my trash on the right and DW on the left of the sink and I prefer the drain in the right rear.

I had an Elkay with drain on left.

chispa, why do you prefer it there? My trash can will basically be behind me on the island.

ker9, I'm looking at Elkay because they have sinks that are 8 and 9 inches deep instead of 10 that I see with Ruvati and Kraus. I don't want to bend over a deep sink. It hurts my back.

I'm deciding between 2 Elkay sinks. One is 16g with center rear drain and the bowl is 28x16x8.

The second is 18g right rear drain and bowl is 30x17x9.

I couldn't find a left rear drain with a shallower bowl.

I'm debating about a bottom rack. I'd like to try it but I've read they don't fit in the dishwasher (and that seems to be true from measuring), so I'm not sure I want to deal with it.
