What are you looking to add to the room? Pictures would help of existing furniture or ideas on new. A floor plan with all dimensions will also help.

I’m looking for furniture ideas, configurations ideas on what would look good on the mantel. We just purchased the home. I can post a photo of our current furniture in our previous house if that would help?

a nice big space, I would think about splitting it up with area rugs to define spaces... conversation/reading, TV viewing, Dining, music... grouping your existing furniture where needed... adding where needed.

Can we get more pictures of the room with your back to the fireplace? Someone already asked what is the main purpose for this space? We also need measurements of the room. How many people will be using the room daily and how many guests do you want to accommodate? Since you just purchased this house, do you possibly have a floor plan/blueprint that you can take a picture of and post here? If so, you could add the measurements to that. Congratulations on your new home.

Since you already have the place you want the TV, the easiest thing to do will be to place the sofa facing the TV, then you can add two chairs on one side and either a loveseat or two chairs on the other side as well.
