Backyard Patio Help

Thinking of what to do in this space off of my covered patio. It is a rather damp area/collects water, so my first thought was to extend patio with pavers to reduce mud when it rains. csnt find anything similar layout wise online for inspiration. any other suggestions? Not opposed to planting a little garden or something there either but given the soil conditions i feel id be limited on plants that can survive with the damp / shade.

Pictures of the entire area including the complete rear of the house may help you get advice. As well as area of the country.

Lots of shade plants like it moist. Ferns, for example. For more examples, we'd need to know your zone and how much shade the corner gets. As for the dampness, I notice you have a downspout that empties there.

I'm also looking at that downspout. Maybe it's just the angle of the photo but the grade may also slope toward your home.
