never amend native soil... if you have bad clay .. advise and we can tell you how to deal with it..

always choose stock according to your area.. sort of goes without saying... zone is an expensive hobby.. and you lose most of the time.. mother nature has little sense of humor .....

if sand is your native soil... you can grow just about all trees with ease.. as to that variable alone...

review this link.. and ask more specific questions as to anything you need further info ...

timing really is the most important variable... to start with..and then its all about proper watering for the first year.. and then near free range in the second year.. but for severe drought.. and just leave the darn thing alone starting with year 3...

"use the tree forum for future posts..." Since this question was posted on the Fruit and Orchards Forum, it is reasonable to suppose the OP is wanting information on fruiting cherries. In which case this Forum is fine. But we are given very little information. What are "these" cherries. Was there supposed to be a picture? And where on the planet are they to be planted?
