first thing I'd do is call in a brick cleaning company to properly powerwash and clean all of your masonry. it will make a huge diff.

paneling- I'd go dark charcoal. Urbane Bronze would be a perfect choice.

I also think some warm wood doors in a more modern style would look better w/the home style.

bring in a tall plant off to the left (Japanese Maple in ithis bronze pot looks good) and some taller pots up front. do more modern lights and modern, larger number for the address.

if you like a lighter trim, either of those would work,,,

OK wait, I got it. this. replace that icky paneling w/wood slats, or a composite wood paneling that's a bit wider. get a new door w/more glass, paint it a dark shade, brink in mcm style address and some nice pots. Voila'

once you get all that brick cleaned up and paint the other paneling (I'd paint it a color to blend w/the brick, do a dark trim) you will have a show-stopper 70's home! I love this one.

diff ways to do the wood accent. this is a thicker wood slat done horiz, but vertically would also work

The more modern door really makes the entire front come to life. if you do nothing else, change the door and paint it

even painting the paneling that there something like Kendall Charcoal, bringing in these round lights (which really fit the home) AND, a door like this (but a diff color like that dusty blush) would be killer

you could do a bold color if you like, red?

or how about a raisin color? Farrow Ball Brinjal would be a perfect shade for that door. do it in a semi gloss though (although I would think about getting a more modern panel door like shown above. if you check craigslist or similar, you can find used doors or good new one)

your bricks are a taupe/pink undertone.

The dovetail gray by SW would be a nice color w/one of these dusty blush tones for the door.

don't pick yellows. any of these would work too

then, bring in some landscaping alongside your pathway.

Hopefully these give you some ideas.

A brighter front door will step out of the shadow. Love the goldenrod one Beth posted with your brick. Once cleaned your brick will look great.

I'd stain the wood to match the roof shingles. Paint the doors black.

Up the landscaping game of this area.

Large rectangular planters on either side of the door in front of the painted paneling - the color of Beth's first photo. Plant tall bright evergreen shrubs on the brighter side of green to pop against the dark panels. Add some bright annuals in during spring and summer. Add some pots where and there in the summer too.

What a fabulous house. Beth gave you several great options. I lean towards dark paint on the wood with a new natural finished front door with great hardware. And of course some landscaping.

Easiest way to paint. Paint door frame the same as widows. Sinding inside with lighter color.
