For the record, (im commenting on my own post), I received one comment that was negative and provided no help or encouragement at all. The commenter is supposed to be a ”pro”, short for professional! There actually are many products out there to try, i was just looking for some advice. i don’t believe my tile is ”ruined”. I will update after we try a few things, in hopes that it might help someone else!

I don't have epoxy grout in my shower, but I did have some nasty mildew on the floor. Yesterday I wetted the floor, sprinkled it with Comet, covered it in paper towels, and saturated those with 50/50 bleach/water mix.

My floor looks like new this morning.

You can easily tell that it's grout residue. Look at the shadowing around the edges of the tiles. There is no cleaning that past about 4 hours.

Unless it's an incorrect waterproofing issue, and the tile is sitting in soup. Where are the pictures of this being built?

People are commenting about the epoxy grout possibly having some residue on the tile itself, but that's not what the poster is asking about. The first picture shows the epoxy grout in the grout joint itself is stained much darker. Hopefully something works to get this clean. Epoxy is tough and you should be able to clean it with something. However, epoxy is not chemical proof to all chemicals. You might want to see what people use on epoxy garage floors for stains. For instance, alcohol will damage the sheen of an epoxy garage floor.

> So, i should have been more clear. The tile, while it might have some haze on it ( not sure), is supposed to have the gray shadow around the border of each pieceeve. it is supposed to look ”antiqued”. Our concern is the dirty grout lines.

If it is supposed to look dirty, then accept that dirty grout is part of the overall look too.

I'm glad something seems to work. I'm shocked that it stained, as I have epoxy in 2 bathrooms and have commented on these forums many times that it is 'bomb-proof.' I read somewhere to never use a steam cleaner on it, maybe because it's plastic? So use caution. Your tile is beautiful and your tiler did an amazing job of matching the pattern at the joints!

Bleach does not remove dirt. It is not a cleaner. It just lightens the dirt that is still there. If a surfactant will not remove dirt, that’s an issue beyond dirt.
