My carpeted stairs are cleaned with either a dustbuster or a shark.

I don't have any stairs, but I have a Shark hand-held vac, and it's a quality item! I've been using it ... can it really be 15 years? Possibly more.

At times i use my feather duster with a handle, wipe down the stairs and vac all the dust at the bottom

I found that the rest of my home needed vacuumed as often as my stairs. Weekly. Yours does not? (Past tense. I moved to an apartment with a sunken living room. Only one step in my home now!)

We have a couple robo vacuums we set loose weekly in our small rancher. I bust out the big Shark vacuum about once a month to get the places the robots miss. It’s just not good for the stairs to the basement, and they need vacuuming more than once a month.

following......have had stairs for over 40 years (mostly carpeted) and I haven't hit my stride with the right way. I do have a Shark lift off Navigator which is ok, but I always feel like I 'm not doing it the best.

I remembered I have a Bissell stick vacuum in my mud room that I rarely use and tried it on the steps. It worked good enough that I am going to store it close to the steps instead of the mud room. I use a good old fashioned broom in the mud room, or a mop.

I use a Swiffer Duster after I've dusted the furniture, window stools, baseboards, etc. with it. Amazing product!
