Bathroom Design Dilema

Looking for creative input! Please bear with me as I only have photos from construction on our rustic mountain home. Picture 1 is our current bathroom (minus the clutter and curtain). Our mock-wood tile shower, slate gray floor tile, and vanity are all loved pieces individually- but we are trying to make the bathroom more cohesive and relaxing. The second photo shows how we thought the vanity would work with the room- but our current lighting situation makes them look mismatched. Maybe adding a light above the shower would fix this. We are considering buying the vanity pieces in the third photo as we want more functional space in the bathroom anyway. And we will be adding the shower doors in the last photo. Any input on how to style the bathroom and make it feel complete is welcomed! Especially countertop color ideas with the third photo, paint critique, etc! Help! Thanks in advance :)

Take the tile to the ceiling! Its sorta a rule of thumb and you are so close so why not. It elevates bathrooms

Is that sliding glass door already bought?

To be honest it looks outdated I would go with something else is there a reason you dont want it to be see through?

Can you add another pic of the bathroom with more clarity maybe step further out

Sorry im sending these all separate !

So another reason I do not like the the shower doors is that faux grey metal clashes with your rustic mountain theme...rustic think dark warmer metals bronze, copper, brass

Also its important to be really mindful and intentional with all the metal fixtures

I made that mistake once and now im trying to undo it and its hard

If your mix metals it has to be with intention and no mixing metals that are too similar (chrome and brushed nickel) and stick to a max of 2 metal finishes

Hi Jo Mu thanks for the recommendation on the shower doors I will pass on them. What do you prefer for the vanity? If the white cabinets, what color countertop do you think would match? Thanks for your help

The white cabinets are too elaborate for a mountain home. Are you purchasing your items off a resale sight? Not really sure what the objective is here? Where were thinking of putting tiles that are leaning on the wall? More info and clearer pictures would help.

Heather if the 1st pic with the charcoal floors are your final floors I would do a dark granite for the white/cream vanity (assuming your keeping those nice dark handles)

I can always repaint the vanity if the white doesn’t have potential in this space. The objective is to make the bathroom flow and be cohesive with the current tile. I can take the shower tile to the top. I could paint the white vanity. I don’t need to keep the handles on the vanity. I could paint the room. I think based on suggestions we will not do the shower doors in the picture.

The picture with the tile leaning on the vanity is to show how the color of the shower tile changes in different lighting. If we put a light above the shower that’s how much brighter the shower tile would appear.

The first picture shows the tile. Thanks for your comments!

Here is with the white vanity you like a warm dark/ black granite

I added the oil rubbed bronze shower head and one picture without if you cant/ dont want tl change the shower fixture

I also tried to "paint" the walls with a color that mimics the color of your shower tile i think it'll help give it a cohesive look

Heres the link to the shower head its actually one of those retrofited ones you can use to replace any shower head

This is exactly the kind of advice I was looking for! Thank you so much! I’m so impressed with your ability to invision this great way forward. I definitely want to paint the room now to match the shower and wanted to go with oiled bronze accents anyway.

    Happy it helped!

What do you think about this color cabinet vs white? Or what would be the ideal color cabinet in this bathroom if we didn’t go with white? Thanks for any input!

Here’s the bathroom now for reference

Heather i think even the one you have now would be better than this new one your suggesting...could you not acquire the white cream one?

The one you just showed looks like a huge downgrade to be honest

Thank you for your honesty! We can acquire the cream one.

We would keep the current one but it is 36” in a 54” space so just awkward in length

So the cream vanity fell through we are no longer able to get it. I live in a rural area so I’ll either be making my own vanity or buying this one; what do we think of this one? Would you paint it an off-white or leave as is? Thanks

    Better photo

Should I paint/ add hardware to make it look more like this one? Thanks

I would just repurpose the one you have that wood one to give it the same look as the cream white one as they have the same "bones" they're more intricate and traditional

The white you sent is imo too modern for the look your are aiming for with rustic mountain

You can use chalk paint its very diy friendly and wax to give it that antique look

@jo mu thank you so much for all your help! Is the granite tile you photoshopped in a ubatuba granite do you know? Everything I’ve been able to find that’s similar has a green to it, but I’ve ordered samples.

I think it was this maybe

However i would go to your local slab yard and ask about remnant pieces. I feel like dark granite is so common you should be able to get it for a good price practically just paying for the fabrication. Even on fb marketplace or your local like salvage place. And that way you get to pick one with the colors you like.
