i wouldnt fertilize a recent transplant for at least 3 months.. and probably 6 months..

no chance of burning roots if you dont do such..

give it time to destress from total repotting before you do anything else to it ..

this is not an orchid rule.. it a general rule ..

I use MiracleGro orchid food for my Phals. I'm sure other people use fancier stuff, but it works for me.

Second: When transplanting, I noticed that there were one or two roots that had to be removed (mushy) Another one, the outer part came right off in my fingers but it left me with a thread (is that called "Vellum"? Should I have left that "thready' part or remove it. I left it!

I have always fertilized with MSU fertilizer for orchids formulated for the type of water I have. It's considered the standard for orchids and was developed by Michigan State U (MSU). It's 13-3-15 but contains other minerals as well.
