I think Ann Kulpa is one of the nicest hosta out there. Your's is beautiful. Mine always melted out in the center.

Saija_Finland - You give me an idea, a permanent planting in a wheelbarrow. Maybe have to be a plastic tub to keep from rusting out.

I think the past few years I have picked Komodo Dragon as my best also.

Sagae - running a close 2nd as it is finally starting to come along.

Paula, the photos of the truck in the canyon and the top of the World Trade Center are freaky. The canyon would have been more open in ’54 and over time it has moved crushing the car….cool pic! Top of the World Trade Center with no tie on ==>my definition of crazy!!

I have been so impressed with Beyond Glory. It is on its 3rd year. Pity the deer ate the flowers.

Very hard to pick the best of. I was going to pick Komodo Dragon or Ann Kulpa but I wanted to choose a different one. Fragrant Bouquet is one which I struggled with I finally moved it to a sunnier spot and it is growing beautifully now.

Every one of the above pics could be my favorite any day!!

Ivory Coast and Liberty (Below) are my favorite type with very wide white margins

No contest here…… Coast to Coast is it. It takes some sun growing next to a purple daylily. It got really big in two seasons here.

Summer Music This is one of the hostas I got the year before in July. I worried if they would come back. It never slowed down this year. Taken September 28

New. So Sweet First hosta I could smell. I almost thought about wintering her over in the house she did not go down till December.

I rarely buy a hosta anymore. i just make my own.

cloning is not tissue culture it is more or less a division process avoiding dangerous chemicals. BAP should only be used in a very controlled environment. It is a dangerous chemical if miss used…….i will not use it.

it will be relatively small quantities,. i want to avoid all the viruses and marketing hype and all the bad things that big business brings.

its just the love of gardening and plants. … just one man dabbing around in the garden.

The canyon and truck picture is amazing. The World Trade Center photo is frightening!

It's really hard picking out the "best" hosta, but I would have to say these two hosta are my best:

Liberty. Even though here we are on October 21, 2023, Liberty is still looking good. I picked it as one of my best because of its stunning beauty in the spring and its good looks for a long season.

And another "best" for me is Great Expectations. I have to wonder what it would look like now had I not divided it and lost most of the divisions years ago!

Hosta_maker, it must be great to make your own hostas! I am envious! Like beth, am enxious to see what you develop. All of the above are stunning!
