I only like chandeliers in dining spaces not living spaces. You need more task lighting, and all the furniture is pushed back to the walls which is very unfriendly looking.

I don't consider chandeliers ambient lighting.

consider Sconce lights floor lamps and table lamps. and especially spot lighting to enhance architectural features and/or art.

I agree with @jck910 about the furniture... create areas grounded with area rugs, for conversation, TV viewing, and dining, etc.
