GE Water Level Sensor Hose Alternative

I have an older top loading GE washer, model # WDSR2080G3WW. It has a clear hose that runs from a rectangular plastic box toward the lower end of the washer tub up to the water sensor behind the upper backsplash. GE calls this hose a \"water level sensor hose\". An OEM replacement is rather expensive. Can you think or a reason why I can\'t simply purchase generic vinyl tubing to replace it? Or is it some specially made material that withstands soap, water, and temperature better than just vinyl tubing? Thanks in advance.

Soap and water/laundry chemicals don't go into the tube. Air pressure does. A replacement pressure tube must be of the same length and diameter as the original so as to comprise an internal volume, else the resultant fill levels may be different.

I find the part you're referencing (WH41X365, Pressure Switch Hose) for GE topload washer model WDSR2080G3WW is currently listed at $10.76 on AppliancePartsPros website. GEApplianceParts is $10.29. ApplianceParts365 has it $9.44. SearsPartsDirect is $7.88. There are many online sources. Add shipping and tax.

What's your evidence that the pressure hose on your machine is faulty? Is there a pinhole or crack in it such that it loses pressure and the machine refills/overfills to reattain the target pressure?
