I really like the first inspo photo. I would do the following:

Add dowels or cane to the vanity doors to mimic the ones in the photo.

Change the mirror and lighting.

Paint the walls. The actual color is Alpine Trail by Behr.

Since your dh does not want to replace the tile, I would paint and stencil it.
