Might be more trouble than it's worth. Have you priced out Andersen sashes and compared that to the price of replacements? What kind of shape is the frame in? The balance mechanisms will not be compatible either.

I think you are asking about putting new sashes in existing jambs. Almost certainly this won’t work. Hopefully you can get sash packs that have new jamb liners that retain the existing jamb but the liner gets swapped out to match the new window.

I'm buying a house that has Hurd windows, some of the seals are broken creating that foggy look.

Sounds like you need only replace the glazing, or the 'IGU''s (insulated glazing unit). ``Contact a local glass shop rather than Anderson.

+1 to the other comments that installing parts form one manufacturer on a window from another manufacturer is not advisable, if not impossible.

Few other observations:

- Hurd's assets (or at least some) were purchased by Sierra Pacific, they may be able to help.

- If the windows are all in good shape outside of the glass seals, you can just call a local glass shop for replacement as mentioned above.

- Lastly, If the windows aren't in great condition but the frames are solid, you may be able to install a pocket replacement window into the old frames.

Your original post isn't super clear as to whether you are looking to install Andersen parts on this Hurd window, or if you are asking whether or not you can install an Andersen window as a replacement inside of the old Hurd frame. Again, no go on the former, whereas the latter is probably possible-- but that depends on the design of the Hurd frame and its condition.
