I think you need a table in front of the chairs. The space needs something to ground it. I love an oval glass top or what about a cluster of small tables?

Looks to me like the dining area is narrow? Have you considered this?..move the table so one end is on the wall net the window in center of space width-wise....then have just the 4 chairs...2 on each side. Put the extra 2 chairs on the opposite walls.

Keep everything light, bright, and neutral since it is a small space. Decorate with the gray and yellow (pillows, throws, accessories) so that you can change it very quickly and without spending a lot of money. I don't know how you are, but I get bored after a few years and want to change it up a bit and its fun!

Your light is centered on the back wall, but your table is not, it is nearer to the window. If you pull the table out it will look right. (no one could eat with it that close to the wall. ) However. If you move the light to be over where the table is now, it will be out of whack when you move table out because you are sitting there.

Easiest thing would be to pull table under the light...

Handyman- it's so close to the wall. I'm thinking the only way to be centered is possibly a pub table, but the room is so long I think it would look worse.

Oh, you mean it is down too close to the Eiffel tower wall and not the center of the room! I meant it is centered window to opposite wall, sorry!

Well if moving it with an electrician is out of the question, you could swag it over. Long chain, to a hook in the place you actually want it.

I think I'd prefer the living area light over the dining table if you're going to any trouble.

That would be such a good change! Speaking to Deco's suggestion of moving the living room light over to the dining room. To replace living room fixture, a fan to move air on hot days? PS: I live where it is really hot!

whatever you do with a light fixture over the dining table, lower it so it is about 30 inches above the table top. And centered, of course. In re-looking the dining area, just pulling the table over to be under the chandelier looks like the best option. You could add a nice buffet or server under your Eiffel Tower print. Then, gorgeous light (airy) yellow or gray drapes...and switch out the chandeliers. It will look great!

When I see your sitting area, I think of some nice rooms I've seen pictures of where they group four chairs in a circle, sometimes around a circular coffee table. I will try to post some pictures from Houzz showing this, you may not be planning any additional furniture or have room for it or interest in it, but I just thought I'd throw that out there since it came o mind when I looked at your sitting area in living room.

What about that long wall where my treadmill is. I want to hang my paris pic there, but I will still have a lot of wall left over. Could I put something else there with the Paris picture?

Here is an example. I just think its really a neat idea I hadn't seen before looking on Houzz. It just seems cozy and encouraging to connecting with others and conversations with four chairs in a circle. I think if you did like it too, it might need to be made sure that I wouldn't feel too crowded, but it is something I'm actually thinking of doing in our formal dining room since we haven't eaten in there since we bought the house almost three yrs ago

I say hang the window treatments, move the picture then decide.

Some of these pictures show with different types of chairs used in same grouping, which may help in a smaller room, using two smaller chairs on one side, also attached pictures where all same type chair included

Get some in to center light. If not remove it and add stainless track lights. Ikea has sme nice ones. You can make a design on ceiling with them. But the light not centered is not good. Love your art. Yellow and gray are perfect together.

I would extend rod pass windows by 6-7" to fill wall more. Can you return drapes for a gray and yellow French design? You need color and pattern in room. Add a big wing back print in grays chairs to each end to break up so much brown.

Get a long 6-7 ft buffet and put where thread mil is. Center on that wall add your sunburst above it. Add other accessories as well. Add a palm in corner by window. Place something yellow to table by chairs.

Add two scones. To either side of sunburst. Hang sun 6-7" above top of buffet. Place scones 3"out from mirror. Get table for chairs. And place lamp there. Plus add same panels to that window that will go in dining.

Crew of two I like the art going on big wall and mirror and maybe scones in dining. How big is sunburst? Don't hang two high.

No table in front of chairs but add a ottoman round 24" go a gray and yellow print. Sq table dark wood between chairs with your lamp.

wks alter, love the room with 4 chairs in a circle. Get for conversation. And would work in this room. Just get 2 more chairs like you have with a big round ottoman in a print . The woven look would also work. Out lamp n new buffet on big wall. I think Paris pic can stand alone on wall. But will have to see.

How does this look? I took the leaf out of the table, so now it's centered, but not with the mirror and sconces.

I like it but it takes the "formal" look away. Also, it's not centered with the wall art. What color of candles should I put there?
