Hosta Wide Screen Shots 2023 ...............................

We have seen the hosta close ups and of the garden friends but what do they look like from afar? Show your gardens today:

I do too. It was easier back then. Not too many area codes involved.

These are the towers on Mt Elden in Flagstaff AZ Feb 2024. I had been thinking about Moving to AZ but not anymore.

Remember that Bald Eagle That was born on New Years Eve? That was yesterday.

Show us the photos where zoom was not involved:

Paula, great jokes. I love the "unfriending" like we used to.

Saija, beautiful gardens, makes me dream of summer.

Here are a few pictures of mine, I tried to get different areas.

Paula..I have a good memory and people used to ask me for phone numbers!..so true that now we don’t have the need to memorize phone numbers..

Saija and Beth..great garden shots..I love both of your huge boulders..

some of my favorite pictures..(not new..posted before)..

Paula lol flat earthers view! Your eagle is beyond impressive. I am waiting until the day that you tell us that it swooped down over your head and got a rodent!!

Saija your beds are so tidy and well defined. It is wonderful to see the progress!

Just beautiful Beth! By the size of your collection you must have missed some areas!

Ann if I am ever agitated I am going to look at your pics and bring tranquility. Such a restful and beautiful garden you have!

I am trying to go left to right on the long bed. I must get better pics next year as it seems I missed getting them at the right times. I redid areas and mulched all summer because it really needed it!

    In the process of mulching.

The next 3 are from last year because it seems I got none of this bed this year.

I was debating with a flat earther today. He said he would walk to the edge of the earth to prove me wrong.

    He will come around, eventually.

I'm embarrassed to even show mine.

old_dirt I only see beautiful plants and gardens!

Gary I don't know why you would say such a thing. I see great plants laid out beautifully.

I see all the many flaws in my own gardens and have been working on them. We are always our own worst critics aren't we?

Close up, there is a lot of slug damage.

I took these just for today. Here is where I grow .....

This is what I call my greenhouse. The hostas will end up on the back row.

    Cacti and other sun lovers

Starting bench with hosta still hanging outside. Still in early spring.

My lake. haha It really is a retention pond, but I love it. Always something happening out there.

That is me from all 4 sides. Oh, there is a lock back on the gates.

Sadly that is not my eagle. He is down in South West Florida and I watch him on cam. I have been lucky enough to have seen Bald Eagles over my house twice last year. Super cool.

Laurie..thank you..I love your garden too..wonderful photos 🙂..you have huge boulders too!..I’m jealous of the stones of you, Saija and Beth..

old_dirt..your garden looks great!..not sure what your DW thinks needs attention?..I don’t see it..

gary..your garden looks great!..be proud 🙂..if only everyone loved plants and the earth like all of us in this hosta forum..

Laurie makes a good point..in our own gardens we see flaws but others see beauty..🙂

    Wow Paula!..you have a lot of pots!..is that a crepe myrtle?..wish I had one..

  • last year

Yes Ms Ann they are Crepe Myrtles. The city was giving away sticks about 33 years ago and that is them now, with offspring. It turned out that there were 20 steppingstones that had disappeared in the soil. around where the trees are and I dug them out. Everywhere that the shovel went into a Crepe Mertle would appear. I have lavender and white. Which would you like?

  • last year

Paula..I’ll take both colors! Lol..I’m pretty sure Indiana is too cold for crepe myrtles..I saw a few at Lowe’s but passed..it’s frustrating growing borderline plants that don’t thrive..my big leaf hydrangeas are alive but don’t bloom..🙁

LOL at how we used to unfriend someone! Flat earther’s view is amusing, too.

Instead of storing phone numbers, our brains are now filled with usernames and passwords!

EVERYONE’S gardens are so inspiring to me! It’s great to see the big picture shots. Having large areas looking good all at once isn’t easy, and you’ve all managed to do it. I’m crossing my fingers that next year I will have some big picture photos to contribute.

Well, my shots are nothing compared to every one else’s, but it’s all I got!! lol

A couple more spots I was planting:

Last one….. some of the plants along the fence were taken out to plant the new.

Debra, your grass looks better than mine, but it’s not the part of the yard that inspires me 😉

This is my hosta garden along the barn, this will be the 4th year. Newer plants along the front.

Indianagg, i love your hosta garden! Maybe the hosta ABC’s has inspired you to othe hosta gardens! Most hostas I have were ”enabled” by the abcs!

Thanks Debra. I hadn’t bought any new hostas in years, but then we built the barn and i said ’look at all that space!’ I started with hostas that I had moved for the barn construction, and then yes, all of you very nice enablers inspired me, lol. Hopefully as they start maturing I will be sharing more pics.
