I wouldn't paint the chairs or table. If you want some color, put a ruggable/washable rug under the table. For the ceiling fixture, I'd consider a drum one.

Pretty table don't change it at all. Sure you can get a new lamp. You could even consider a diy update on the current one with spray paint on the metal and different shaped shades without the bell.

What about finding lighter seat cusions - something with a rattan-like look without the roughness. Or a easy to clean linen-look? Or linen slipcovers for the chairs. I'd change the light fixture before painting the table or chairs.

Yes to the seat cushions. I haven’t seen anything rattan but Ballards has some linen ones I think.
