Hosta Yellow 2023 .......................

I need to also add yellow to the garden and momma still needs to shop .......................

I had a golf cart when I worked. After we replaced the phones, I kept a receiver with cord on the dash of said cart. When I got irritated after a radio call, I would pick up that receiver and slam it down, many times. Other employees took to slamming my phone down also.

It will be a Jeopardy question soon Don Pardo.

I wonder whose idea it was.

Show us some yellows today .....

this one inherited the tall 4ft scapes from golden falls.

except they are deep red, should be quite a show.

It shoud be in the large category when its fully mature.

Paula - I Like the phone trick. I drove a fork lift for several years, first with radio communication and later cell phones. When I'd get an irritating call or someone I didn't want to talk to, I'd hold the mike by the horn and blast it. Got in trouble for it a few times.

I think my yellows tend to be more chartreuse, probably lack of sun and pictures taken later in the season but I'm calling these yellow. :-)

OMG Paula! Yes Ann me too! Odd how satisfying slamming a phone down was. I would like to have one for some telemarketers.

Ann I have got to get FI planted. Yours are a beacon.

    hosta_maker L the M is so nice.

Beautiful old_dirt. We were posting at the same time.

It’s lucky we all survived the “death traps” of our childhoods…..lol, lol Ann, I must buy and plant Fire Islands in a row somewhere——I just love that look in your yard! As Laurie said, they are a beacon of light in your wooded garden! Yes, that looks like First Frost to me.

Hosta_maker that first hosta is quite lovely and I need to pull the trigger and buy L the M…. It’s just a beauty. However, I am done buying for now (21 hostas) but maybe by April, if they are still available.

Old_dirt, I think yellow and chartreuse go together. Many yellows are chartreuse at some point in their growing. Your hostas, all of them are definitely yellows in my opinion. Sun Power is a show stopper!

Laurie, you have many beauties….my favs are Cranberry Wine (so graceful), Ladybug (so cute) and Tickle Me Pink ( love the shape of the leaves and the upright presentation).

    yummy yellows everyone!..lol

we have a summer family photo where 3 of the 4 siblings in my family have a cast!..I had a broken leg (small crack but I got a cast) my brother and one of my sisters had broken arms!..we were active and apparently clumsy!..

Laurie and debra..I love your comments about my Fire Islands 💕..beacon is a great nickname..both of you have a boatload of beacons!..

to me a yellow hosta in the spring is very special..

I love that Prairie Moon is yellow and Prairie Sky is blue..they would be pretty planted together..

Debra I have been admiring Munchkin Fire for a while now, it is so cute. Your SQ is a nice size and you really caught GL Peeps at the perfect time , it fairly glows. Very nice indeed.

    Ann I agree!

One of my favourite yellows: 'Dawn's Early Light'. It is viridescent, unfortunately, so it doesn't put on its best show for too long but I can't wait for it to show its colours in spring!

Another that's right up there on my favourites list is 'Fire Island', can't really go wrong with it in the spring and then in the fall there's those wonderful purple flowers.

Pieter, love your yellows! GL Peeps is like Dawn’s Early….so worth the wait! Your Fire Island has so much red up into the leaves. For a minute I thought it was Ruby Earrings. Perhaps our zone difference accounts for the color difference. Have you had late blooms with yours? FI is one of several that often sends late blooms.

I don't have photos of Fire Island -- it had a rough year last year, but looks like it might come back strong this year (if we don't have another late freeze).
