Yes it is a seedling of Ligularia 'Britt-Marie Crawford'. It is a great plant.

someone said my green hosta are Undulata Erromena..they came with the house..I moved them to the back and planted them together..too bad the log wasn’t in place when I took this pic..

Laurie..hosta IDs are very tough for me..I’ve learned a lot from this group..I don’t recall much about the blooms..makes me think they’re basic purple..

Devon Green:

Sea Monster has looked much better for me in the past. When it's robust, the corrugation is a real stand out.

Ben, your Devon Green looks great in a pot! I am going to try potting some hostas this year. Sea Monster is a nice corrugated one…..maybe it wants to come out of that small corner and take over the garden! 🐉🐲

Ann and Laurie, I know most gardeners consider BA and Krossa to be blue, my point was in my yard they tend to look more green….. I guess BA has some wax on it in the pic above…..but it never looks blue like Jack of Diamonds or Blue Hawaii. It sits in quite a bit of shade, maybe more sun would make it more blue???

Anyone care to guess at my NOID? It’s very shiny and gets dark green…..
Here’s another look:

debra I have no secrets to soil mixes. I use store potting soil add pine fines 1 big bag to 1/2 bag fines and perlite to eye. It rains here and I have to keep everybody free flowing. If I want to add a little moisture I add a little peat to the mix. My son makes it up for me and I use a drum composter to mix it. I also add time release and I do use water soluble plant food. Once in a while I give them a zap of orchid food which has a high N value.

Serendipity clocked out when the major heat hit last summer. She was out in full sun till May.

I grow in pots. I have always called myself a transient grower as I can move them with me at any time. I have lived in this house for 36 years.

Debra BA is on the sun tolerant list so perhaps a little more sun would help but I am wondering if either BA or KR are getting the wax removed by excess water from above. Dripping from a tree, water spout?

Peren, BA sits under the dense shade of my King Crimson Red Maple. It gets late afternoon sun for a couple of hours. When it rains I can measure how significant a rain it was because BA only gets wet if it’s been pouring for a while. I have toyed with the idea of taking some pieces from it and putting them in more sun, but it is one of my largest hostas and it’s been in that spot for years. I noticed last year that it seems to be shrinking a bit, so I may have to get Bert’s help to dig it up and pull out the maple roots……dreading that!
Krossa is not getting any more overhead moisture than the rest of my garden. I do try to root water and don’t use a sprinkler.

hosta_maker I love your first seedling, dark green leave with dark petioles. Peren your black hills is beautiful. I love the frosty black side. I wonder if mine will ever get like that.
