As well as the kitchen? Context is key.

Those are much too large. A three foot circle is HUGE.

i figured with the increased height og the ceiling and size of the room it might be okay.

yes, use it... good size for the room and plenty of height.

There's a reason pendants are used over islands. You can get the light closer to the island which is appropriate if it is a workspace. If you hung a wagonwheel fixture only 36" off the surface of your island it would look weird. If you hang it higher, it will provide good general illumination in the room, but maybe not enough task lighting - some of this is personal preference, so you'll have to think about how it would work for you. But I don't know if I've ever seen a wagonwheel in a kitchen, so it seems odd to me. They're used most frequently in family rooms. It would help people if you posted a picture of your kitchen as context is important. There is rarely one right answer in all circumstances. That's why you're getting conflicting information.

Without knowing the design and dimensions of your kitchen, it's hard to say. But, I use my island fixtures mainly for task lighting - if that is your intent, I'm not sure the design of the fixtures will allow for good task lighting.

i was worried that it might be too bright with 24 lights.

Kitchen area 16x23. enters into an open area containing dining area and living room.

If you like the design but are worried about brightness, put the lights on dimmers. I did that in my kitchen and it works great - easily transition from task lighting to ambient lighting.

I have a 5x8 island in a large kitchen (open to a living room, 10' ceiling). My 2 black pendants are approx 15" wide...yours would absolutely overwhelm the island size!

Mock it up as best you can. Saw horses and plywood for counter. Cardboard circles on strings from ceiling. While you have scaffolding around!

You have to be flexible and ready to be willing to pay to have the electrical moved at the last minute ... if the design on paper doesn't look as good once everything is close to being done!

My original plan had two chandeliers over the family room area and one over the breakfast table area. The breakfast one was a different type. Once everything was framed up and they placed the beams, I could better work out the furniture placement and realized that one chandelier over the family room would be better. I then didn't like that the chandeliers in the family room and breakfast area were different, so I put the second one that I didn't use in the family room, into the breakfast area ... and now I have an expensive spare chandelier sitting in the garage! I would not have been happy with the original plan, so it was worth making the change.

    Nobody can see the plan

    A wagon wheel.......this is a rather special /specific look.

Two in a huge great room? That is size dependent.

Two over your island in that size over a 60" x 96" island ? ABSURD.

Three in any contiguous open space? Overkill.

    And no, nobody can enlarge, or understand the scribbles ;

    Post a legible floor plan

Post the KITCHEN plan, 2 dimensional that lives within that plan.

Both of those as Jpeg that enlarge on a click.
