Sunken living room

We have never done anything right with this room and tried it as a dining room lastly. We have a picture window as the only focal point
What furniture arrangement would you use. Up against wall or floating? Installing g bamboo floors this week.

What type of furniture? How do you intend to attempt to use the room? Dimensions of the room? Furniture pictures or sizes? Help us help you.

Can you fill it in and make it level with the balance of the house (best thing to do with sunken rooms)? Hold off on the bamboo until you know how or what the room will be used for.

Really no lighting at all how can we help. IMO waituntil the new flors are in and the windows are open .

How many people do you need to seat? How will you use your room - TV or not? Will that big cabinet stay in the room? How big is the room? Is there a nice view out the window that you want to see?

Better picture please? More pictures in broad daylight?

A drawing of the room, all walls, window, feet and inches and entry point etc. In other words?size of everything!

Who's using it, will it have a tv....how many will use it?

Sunken? Looks like a basement. Ceilings are terribly low...and it seems the curtain hung up on the ceiling/wall joint didn't raise the ceiling. hahahahaha

You could have the sofa up against the wall facing the window. Pair it with two floating armchairs and a coffee table. Float a large area rug.centered in the room.

In order to help you, need a thumbnail sketch of the floor plan of the room indicating walls, windows and doorways. Nothing fancy, I would be happy to scale it for you.

First, take overall dimensions of the room. Ceiling height?

Then, start in the corner--measure corner to window frame > window > window to corner > etc. all the way around the room. Don't miss a measurement. You get the idea.

Take pics in the daylight and show the other side of the room.
