choosing a stain for red oak hardwood

I believe this is red oak. The first is faded from the sun. I need help choosing the best stain color (if any) that would show less fading. We get a lot of natural sunlight in the afternoon and I am hoping to choose something that is more forgiving to fading. Thanks for any advice!

Are you going to have this all sanded down to bare wood? The fading has more to do with the top coat than the stain and you really cannot stop it, only hope to slow it down. I would look for a finisher that uses the Bona finishes and uses Bona Mega or Mega One finish. There are pro's on here who may recommend other finishes, G&S Floors and Timothy Winzell being two. They will be along at some point and should offer better advice than I.

Yes, we are going to have it sanded down so that it will all match. We are adding the same wood to the living room. Currently it is only in the entryway and dining room. Thanks for your help!
