Cute house! I would put a small ornamental tree in that spot. Visit your local garden center and ask for suggestions. General clean-up and pressure washing of the concrete would add to the curb appeal as well.

Agree with deegw, but I would want a tree taller than the roof edge for scale and balance.

I'd put a largish shrub in the corner. You want the largest item in your garden there. I suspect small trees will be too big. I'm in the east, so don't know the PNW, but I like ninebarks.

Landscape that space-no sitting area or hardscape since it’s exposed and it rains a lot in the PNW. You already have a covered space for sitting adjacent to your front door. Simplynatural gave you some good ideas. Great house, btw!

100% agree with simplynatural’s ideas. You already have a covered seating area in a region of high precipitation. You don’t need more seating or grass to maintain.
