I think those will be too big and create more wind that you might want . There are tons of ceiling hugger fans I assume you also have lighting in the ceiling so remember fan blades can create a strobe effect with lighting.

So true we have a son who is 6'5" and he has some issues in his brothers house with ceiling fans in the media room in the basement .

The consensus among several articles I read is that a 240 square foot room (10' x 24') requires a 52" fan.* Blade tips should be no closer than 24" from a wall. Hang the fan at least 7' above the floor. Personally, for an outdoor fan I'd get a model controlled with a simple pull chain instead of a remote. One recommended model:

*If you were installing two fans maybe you might treat the room as if it were two 10' x 12' rooms in which case you'd install ~42" fans (e.g., Hunter 44" Cassius: Home Depot, Amazon).

Well, I don't think I'll follow the advice to NOT have anyone tall come over. Our 6'3" son does very well when he visits us here in our 1963 ranch house, even with its 8' ceilings and ceiling fans.

The porch ceiling is really 8'3" and the fan is 12" so the bottom will be a bit over 7' from the floor. We're good with that. (The ceiling fan in my living room is even lower.)

The strobe light effect was a good thought, so I went out to measure and none of the blades will be passing over lights, so we're fine there too.

The fan has 9 speeds so I'm not concerned with too much wind, and in this Mississippi Gulf Coast unbearable heat I do think more is better!
