What about a corner fireplace?

It's definitely not necessary for every space to be filled. Careful editing in a space makes for good design. You've already got an eye-catching arch, contrasting baseboards, eleven framed pieces of art in different sizes with a variety of frame/mat styles and colors, and two side by side furniture pieces (one metal/glass and one wood with textured baskets) making up an AV area. You don't need to fill it further with a chaise especially since the front door opens to this space.

Hi Maureen! Oh dear lol! The dreaded dark corner by the t v! No need to fear it, though, especially for the art lover. I spy a lovely collection of pictures. I also spy a near perfect vintage bureau in the next room, and a classic marble top side table. Nice!

Before I launch into placement lol! Just a first consideration: Will this corner be the first thing visitors see upon entering you home? If so, how would to like to set the tone for first impression? The pieces I noticed might pull together to create a beautiful, vintage feel, tv gallery wall!

One rule of thumb in creating decor impressions is as follows! The height of the highest object on the wall will be the focal point of the room. Here, if the entryway does not include a view of the corner, you may pull height to it by choosing a unique shelf or lamp, or a reading nook with a vintage chaise and bright pillows! Nice!

My suggestion is to balance all elements across the entire wall, with a gallery of your art behind the tv. The highest picture will create the centerpoint of the wall. Decorate toward the centerpoint, from both corners, with any emphasis you choose—from classic symmetry or an eclectic look! Switch the

dining room? bureau and the tv console, take a trip to thrift (yes, it’s my downfall lol!) and find matching lamps, vintage chair and a reading lamp. Of course, some great picture frames!

Is this a suitable spot for a plush comfy chair?

I agree with tlynn’s comments. Having some open space can be calming and nice. You might consider a plant in the corner. This is just me (who’s more of a minimalist!), but I‘d move the 3 frames and mirror on the wall to the left of the corner if I added a plant. Just curious…is the vent I see by the little round table functioning?
