My builder uses Houzz Pro to plan the timeline and give detailed estimates and daily updates with photos of progress, and provide invoices at pre-agreed key points in the build. This made the whole experience much more efficient and stress-free.

Looking to replace windows

I have about 12-15 windows I am looking to replace and wanted to see who may be the best options. I live in MA and I heard that Renewal by Andersen tend to be very expensive. Should I go with a window company, or should I go with a contractor? If a window company, can people give me some good companies.

    I know some great contractors...and we do their windows. It's usually just a more streamlined process for the folks that do this all the time to do it.

    We just replaced some windows this s year with Kolbe fiberglass triple pane, and have been very impressed with the look and performance.

    Are you looking for insert replacement windows or full framed new construction type windows?

    Definitely a window company as has been alluded to.

    I don't have any specific dealer recommendations in your area, however if you search for the better products on the market you will likley find a good company.

    In vinyl that would include Sunrise, Okna, Softlite, Vytex, Polaris... among others.

    In Fiberglass/Composite it would be Starmark, RBA, Marvin

    In wood/clad i'd say Marvin, Kolbe, and Andersen has some decent products.

    Find a company(or two or three) that carries one of these windows depending on the material you prefer, that has been around for a while and that has great ratings (google, bbb, etc).

    Put all of that together and you should have some solid choices.

    I'd recommend that you visit JB Sash and Door (https://jbsash.com/) - they are near you and have a nice display room. They may be able to recommend a contractor in your area. They used to carry Andersen and Marvin - though I think they may no longer do Andersen. I'm not sure if they handle any vinyl windows?

    When I replaced my windows with Andersen inserts they handled the order and were very helpful. The windows were installed by a contractor based in Saugus that was doing other work on the house - roof, siding, porch, etc.

    Definitely not Window World, RBA again would be the company for the Renewal insert window product but the OP never answered the replacement/insert or new construction/full frame question.
