Ugh - another day, another new decision.

This is the porch on our newly constructed garage with mancave/pool house. They just finished the ceiling and I'm now rethinking my idea of painting it blue. Now that I see the ceiling it seems that staining it might be a better choice for these clear pine boards, both for form and function.

My concern is that nothing else anywhere on the exterior of our house or this detached building is stained. All of the Hardie board siding and trim will be painted, and from the beginning we had thought of using the same blue paint on this ceiling that we were using on the front doors of both the house and this building.

Here are the paint colors for the project - as always, not totally accurate on a computer screen:

The plan is to have 2 large black ceiling fans, as well as a black lantern style light next to the door - in other words, I am using black as a small accent color.

I don't know why, but it feels off to bring in something totally different (a stain) for the ceiling. But I think that might just be me? If I do decide to stain it, what color do I go for?
