Did I start too early?

I started my zinnias 3 weeks ago. They took off faster then I expected. Already getting second set of true leaves. Cannot go outside till second week of may. Plan on pinching after 3rd set of leaves. Will they be ok?

I too started early. Are yours under grow lights?

Yes they are, I have 6 lights. I'm starting all kinds of flowers. You have lights?

Yes, and I went all out with petunias this year. I planted 200, wich is way too many for my needs! 😅

I also sowed vincas, impatiens, rudbeckias, gypsophila, lupines and columbine.

Wow you really did plant a lot. I figured since my zinnias were only 3 weeks old I would separate them there was two in each cup I sacrificed a few but I ended up with 87 plants in the bigger cup. I'm working on planting still and starting seeds I'm doing the zinnias dwarf marigolds regular marigolds straw flowers painted daisies and I want to start bachelor buttons and some others. I know I started early but I have them in big cups which are bigger than the cells that you get at the nursery so they should be okay. Last year I went out with such tiny flowers that you needed glasses to see I didn't have lights or anything I learned from my mistakes. I want to go outside with plants that look like they came from a nursery something I can at least see when I'm planting them LOL

Same here, I would rather transfer in a larger pot than plant tiny seedlings!
