Basement flooring wisdom needed - Marmoleum? Cork? Epoxy?

Anyone have experience with using Marmoleum or Cork for basement flooring?

We are in a 1930's colonial with a somewhat uneven conerete slab (and low ceilings)

Looking for a nontoxic more ecofriendly flooring option if at all possible...

We recently got the basement waterproofed (french drains + new sum pump) -- had been getting water seepage coming up thru concrete slab.

Previously we had LVP down there. It was fine, but the slab was VERY uneven and had dips and valleys throughout , which you could def feel thru the LVP -- it had never been leveled or prepped prior to LVP install.

Contractor has now used self levelling conrete, so slab definitely better, but far from perfect.

Marmoleum?

Cork?

Epoxy?

Polished concrete?

Feel i've read conflicting things about Marmoleum and Cork being good for basement moisture (Whether or not you get actual water)

Would love to hear all your flooring wisdom!

Marmoleum a great option. lots of color/style options available. especially if you want something colorful/fun.

I have also used Bamboo in damp locations, but it sounds like you have that under control.

We did waterproofing similar to what you've done about 2 years ago - we went with LVP and the contractor leveled the floor so it feels great - I like that it's pretty warm on my feet and we have hardwood in the upper 2 levels so it felt right for the house. I LOVE marmoleum and think that would be a great choice as well -

My daughter's basement marmoleum floor was beautiful, however even with ground water control there is enough moisture in the ground under the basement that the marmoleum eventually puckered. She is considering either painting the concrete, or, heaven forbid, carpet.

Something that is easy and inexpensive to replace until you know you have the moisture problem solved.

Marmoleum click flooring is more forgiving than the sheet options but you’ll still need to level the floor as much as possible. Plus the moisture needs to be resolved completely - there’s a lot of cork in the product.

We had an epoxy floor put in our basement (about 2 years ago) because we do occasionally have water issues. It looks great and the most recent water issue didn’t damage it at all. I love that I don’t don’t have to worry about water damage to it.
