My spring of 23 plant looks like this. It's pineapple ground cherry. It just doesn't look right for its age. Maybe I should try different seeds

What is wrong with it is that it is not a ground cherry plant. Looks like Silene coronaria, a biennial which will flower this year.

Most people outside hot climates grow ground cherries like tomatoes. ie they sow fresh every year.

These plants are a year old.

Yes some people even grow to.atoes year round. Most annually.

If you like your Silene coronaria save some seed or scatter where you want them. They start very easily.

Silene coronaria self seeds happily. It's possible it came from a neighbour's garden.
