Bon Silene Experiments

I've been experimenting with a new camera lens and have been taking a lot of pictures of Bon Silene, which after a difficult childhood has grown to be among my favorite teas.

And here are two more experiments--this time featuring the 1937 Hybrid Tea, Contrast. I was playing around trying to make the Australian mint bush in the background more or less blurry:

Have fun! I used to have 'Bon Silène', but lost it to poor soil. I hope one day to have more Teas, if I can ever create the conditions they need. Also, enjoy the photography.

Your last photo of 'Contrast' lives up to its name! Congrats on that success. Also, Bon Silene is gorgeous - I especially like the pic of most of the bush, with the blooms glowing along with the new red foliage.

Continuing some photographic experimentation, I noticed Rob Roy framed by an arching backdrop of Canna × ehemannii blooms this morning, and tried taking a few pictures throughout the day.
