I think you’ll get the most thoughtful responses if we could see the rooms, and perhaps an inspiration photo of the feel/look you’d like to achieve.

Let's start with the trim paint color; because the wall color needs to work with it. Ballet White and Spanish White both work with Chantilly Lace, a white/white. Keep the trim consistent in both spaces.

For Spanish White you can use successfully (says B.M.)

Keep in mind Spanish White can show yellow.

Biggest question from me, from where does the natural light come in the sitting area?

I don't know how helpful these photos will be but I tried... Not sure what feel I'm going for; I like so many different looks. I do tend to like light colors more than a dark feeling. There's a lot of light in the sitting room but no natural light in the bedroom. We got a new headboard that does NOT go with the current wallpaper (that never matched the lamps which had sentimental value). I think just something just a lot more put together than what I currently have is my desire!

elcieg, I hadn't seen your comment when I posted my photos. I really appreciate your insight! I currently have a lavender color to match the old wallpaper. I like it but wasn't sure it went with the Ballet White and may just want a change. I haven't really looked into all the greens/blues but do you think something like BM Antiguan Sky, Spring Sky, or Green Wave would go? Or maybe a dark blue like BM Downpour Blue? Thanks.

Here’s a color pallet to consider. I like the trim color and Puritan Gray that elcieg posted, and I also prefer Ballet White over Spanish White. I’m assuming you will be removing the wallpaper before you paint, so this color inspiration comes from the bedside lamps. The three blues you mention are a tad too bright for a wall color to my eye, but would be great in a throw pillow. I like the hits of the saturated gold color to bring everything to life.

ffpalms, this is very helpful! Ho!w did you do that color palette? Is it something I can do myself? I actually don't mind possibly getting different lamps so I'm open to any colors. I wasn't sure what colors besides blues would go with the ballet white. Thanks.

Question: Are you planning on keeping the existing furniture and elliptical in the sitting area or will you be rearranging it as a sitting area where you can relax and watch TV?

Also, there seems to be some furniture on the right in a photo showing a dresser at an angle, can you post more photos of the other walls so that we can see if you can have an improved layout of your furniture?

Adding in that the light in the sitting room comes from 2 windows, Southeast and Southwest.

I suggest you look at BM White Dove which is less yellowish and would give a more updated look to your cherry furniture. Regarding the layout, I would place the TV on the chest that's flat on the wall (not at an angle) next to your 7-drawer dresser. Perhaps update your mirror, I show a vintage metal in gold, and also update your lamps. The tall dresser I would place in the corner of your dressing room with the small TV on top which would be a good height for when training on your elliptical equipment. Buy an interesting comfortable accent chair. For a more finished look you can consider adding creamy white side drapes to your windows (to difficult to show with all the furniture in the sitting room). Both rooms in the same colour for continuity. I show the accent colour to the room in olive green but with the wall colour blue (similar to the ones shown by ffpalms would also be a nice choice with the cherry wood.

Wendy, I use a drawing app that lets you layer images to create a mood board, though it might be easier for you to dowload an app called Milanote to get started on creating your own collection of ideas. Here is a screenshot of a review that explains what it is.
