Are you OK with having the arch uncovered? This would let in light in the morning. If you are OK with this, then draperies across the lower part. If you need to shorten them, some drapes come with iron-on tape that you can use to "hem" the bottoms. I have no clue if this ends up looking good or not. Or think about Roman shades. (is that a heat vent on the wall below the window?)

Your first idea would be fabulous. Hem the curtains. It's a bedroom could be a no sew job even.

The room faces west, so I’m ok covering the arch. The dark box on he wall is where a receptacle that still needs to be i stalled, however there is a floor vent under the receptacle. I have picked 2 separate curtains I love, however one only coming in lengths of 84” or 95” and the other comes in 72”, 96” and 102”. I’ve never seen such odd lengths in ready made curtains! I’m ok with hemming curtains, just don’t have he time at this point.

Well, if you really like it there are plenty of 108" curtains available... keep looking. I personally think it would improve the room dramatically. Good luck!
