What can I do about random stains/marks on Quartz countertops?

I moved into a new build in March 2023 (just over a year ago). A couple of weeks after we moved into the house I noticed a cloudy spot on the quartz countertop in my kitchen. I contacted the manufacturer and someone came and said it looked like a water mark. The technician used Vim Cream and Bar Keepers Friends to "clean" it. The spot disappeared. Then a couple of months later, it reappeared again in the same spot. I contacted them again and they said that it's not under the warranty which I thought was very strange because they came and "fixed" it the first time but now they say it's not under warranty. Over time I have noticed more and more spots and marks appear on the countertops in different areas. I have tried everything they recommended to get rid of them except Vim because I don't want to ruin them. They appear in the most random areas (funny enough it's usually parts of the countertop that I barely use for tasking). They are different shapes so I'm pretty sure it's not something I'm doing because whatever I do is I do everywhere.

I wonder if the original installer sealed it and you are seeing patches of it as it wear off and you attempt different cleaning methods?

Wouldn't that mean that they did a bad job with the sealing and that it should be fixed by them? Because it shouldn't wear off after less than a year of use.

Quatrz should not be sealed. And never use Barkeepers Friend. It is essentially sandpaper and will remove the factory finish and leave the spots a matt as opposed to the factory gloss (even minimal factory gloss).

But that's the manufacturer's recommendations and what they themselves originally used to get the stain out. They recommend the soft cleaner though, I'm not sure if that's any better. How can I approach them about this then? Should these stains be under warranty since they recommended these cleaners? Do I have the right to ask them to replace the countertops?

Did you buy the tops or did they come with the house package? Do you know the brand? If purchased separately, from whom? What is the warranty supposed to be lengthwise? What does the paperwork say is covered? It may not be under warranty and they did you a "favor" the first time attempting the repair. Maybe they realized is could be repaired which is why they now say it is not under warranty.

They came with the house package. The warranty is one year for scratches and chips but stains are not mentioned. I did bring this problem to their attention before the one year ended and at that time they said it's not under warranty. I have a technician coming today to show me how to get these stains out so I will talk to them and see what they have to say.

Everything is out of warranty. Live with it as is. You probably do not want to pay a $300 service call for more temporary "fixes" that do not fix anything.
