Bathroom Vanity Modifications?

We really like his particular bathroom vanity, but we would prefer to have a couple signiificant (?) changes to it. Are these changes reasonable?

The first change is that we would prefer the vanity be 2-3 inches shorter. is it possible to saw the legs short without damaging the vanity? it looks like the vanity has adjustable feet to level it. Can these (threaded socket?) be re-inserted after we saw the legs short?

The second change is can the vanity top be ordered with an offset sink bowl? We would like to have it with the bowl offest to the right of center. Is that possible? Even if we were to special order an extra, second vanity top, is something like that available?

Thanks.

I have no idea why you'd want to lower, what has become STANDARD vanity height, unless you are quite short.

Also, Houzz is no different than Amazon, you need to go to the seller of that product.

Note .....here Is the Houzz ad picture and specs

    Note?

Save some money : ) Home Depot identical

    in a side by side.

    different name

there is no ROOM on a vanity this size of 30 inches, to offset a darn thing, but your hand soap..so don't wreck the vanity or waste your money cutting it down or getting a new top. If you want a different vanity ? You do that, or custom, depending your size limits.

You need to learn to understand dimensions ( 30" ) and it's always wise to google for price

    Are these changes reasonable?

No, these changes are not reasonable /are not going to lead to a good finished product:

    - This vanity is a standard height. When I visit the farmhouse where I grew up and use the vanity in the hall bath, I am reminded of how bad those very short vanities were. And I'm only 4'11". Few people would want a shorty vanity.

    - If you cut off the legs, you'd have an open shelf touching the floor. That'd look weird. If you want to cut off the legs, you'd be better off having a custom cabinet made with no shelf.

    - This vanity comes with a sink and faucet holes already in place. You cannot move the sink. Well, okay, you could ... but it'd mean removing this countertop and buying a replacement; if you're going that direction (to gain a few inches), you'd be better off having it built custom.

    Those things aside:

    - It's a very small vanity. You'll have no space for your toothbrush holder, no place to set out hair appliances. I've lived with that small vanity, and I hate-hate-hated it.

    - This vanity has no drawers, and that's going to be uncomfortable. You need drawer space at the vanity for make-up and toiletries.

For all we know, this isn't a reasonable use of space. Is this a bath or a powder room/1/2 bath?

Show where it is going, and WHY you would even attempt a pretty useless gain of counter space on a small vanity, let alone cut the legs down

None of those changes are even possible if ordering online usually the fact is the changes you want will look ridiculous . Get a custom vanity forget the lower type,so not user freindly even if you are short. As for anything else we need context.

You can't special order or alter a mass produced product.

You could get a similar cabinet custom built or alter the cabinet yourself. I have added and removed legs from furniture to make it work for my particular needs. The leveling screws may need to be sacrificed on the legs - wouldn't know until you took things apart, but you could add a smaller leveling leg behind the decorative leg or just replace the legs with shorter leveling legs or cut off the legs and use shims to level the vanity. A furniture repair shop would be an option if you don't have the skills to DIY.

Typically sinks are centered, but there are a few mass produced vanities with offset sinks. You can also have a countertop fabricated with an offset sink.

I used stock cabinets and a fabricated top when I needed an offset sink in my bathroom.

The saving grace was that I had more than one vanity top being fabricated. A lot of fabricators don't want to do single small vanity top, so they have minimum charges. Some fabricators may have some small pieces left over from another job and may be willing to do a small job.

    Anything can be done.
