In my opinion, you have too much on the table already. It's just waiting for someone to put a big purse or backpack on it, turn around, and smash the lamp to the floor.

I think I’d put the painting ( I like it) on the book and maybe layer it just a little on the mirror. I’d take away the plant and pot and just have the bowl for keys and sunglasses. You could put museum putty under the lamp to keep it from scooting off the table.

You are attempting to compensate for a too small mirror.

Trade the 30" mirror for a 42" diameter

Get a smaller less bulky lamp

Use the vase with branches, let some branch show in the mirror

Add a smaller tray or dish for keys

Agree - too much stuff. I have 2 things on my entry table and 1 big picture hanging on the wall above it.

Not every flat surface needs a ton of stuff and IMO an entry table needs 2 things a place for people to place keys or mail depending on how you use the entry . I like a mirror rarely but it needs to be hung at the proper height , I much prefer a piece of art maybe a lamp but that depends on the lighting you have . A real plant is nice if it can actually get enogh light ot grow. Books have no purpose there at all. That little piece of art is not good. I also think the foyer is the introduction to your home so should connect to the rest of your decor.. To me more of big deal is aplace to sit to take off and put on shoes or boots so nice littl bench under that table .

Definitely hear everyone’s thoughts on do less. In the process of getting a larger mirror per Jan’s suggestion. I felt like it was too small as well. I also got rid of the books. But I can’t seem to let go of painting Lol.

My daughter just went through this and figured out the mirror was too small and was throwing things off. If you can’t exchange the mirror, try lowering yours and experiment until it feels visually balanced, especially height wise.

In the same way a house with badly proportioned bones is always a mistake - you are forced to "fix" it with decor. A lot easier when the proportions are good to begin: ) Lovelier as well.
