Tile and mirror placement

Is the tile installed around the mirror or is the mirror installed on top of tile?

Hi there,

The tile would generally be installed first and the contractor would leave a rectangular space so the mirror could be mounted directly to the plywood. Here is another image for your review. Later on the contractor would mount the mirror so it stands proud of the tiles.
