I can answer #4:

6” wider then the stove is best. So if your range is 36’, then hood should be 42”.

What "style / look" are you hoping for will help determine which type of hood to get.

With the 8' ceilings & window placements,

I think getting a stainless steel vent under cabinet with matching same size cabinets on both sides would be a nice option.

I would go all the way to ceiling with cabinets, to help keep 8' ceilings looking taller. Keeping the colors of the hood matching the cabinets below will visually help blend into the surroundings to help keep the windows as the main focal point. A dark hood avoid, it will draw to much attention to it & accent the shorter 8' ceiling.

It looks as though the goal is to get the hood completely center between the windows. That is great idea & is important it is exact. So,

Not sure if it's the photo angle, but double check the center is between windows accurately. Check cabinets to window trim match (in red A & B on sketch)

If you can post the 3 measures in the sketch that may help others come up with some nice ideas as well.

8' ceilings are a challenge.

It's shorter & becomes the main focal point.

It's not my fav. but for some people it works.

Here's some ideas to help you get ideas.

These 2 options where a hood insert goes inside.

This is a slim line vent that goes under cabinet, usually the cabinet above has HVAC venting, outside. The hardware on the cabinet, above the vent is optional.

With an 8' ceiling, the hoods will be shorter than a lot of photos seen on internet with higher ceilings. Also watch out for head room height, measure the tallest person in home & check both installation manuals for the range & vent for proper placement & venting.

There are no uppers at all on that side intentionally so the under cabinet hood not an option. I do like the squared off version in the pic above.
