True Bloom True Love from 2 different sources......

Next mid week two True Bloom True Love bushes are due to be delivered to me. One bush was ordered from Amazon, and the other is coming from Home Depot. The price is comparable from each source. I did this to see how the handling through transit turns out, and any differences in quality or condition of the roses. Wouldn't it be amusing if the roses came from the same grower? Anyway, I'll keep you informed of the outcome.

Well, now, 9 months later, I still remember the bushes and their history here. There was no difference in their quality which was very good. I planted them in the same hole to get a mass effect a la David Austin style. That wasn't necessary at all because they grew so luxuriantly and produced such heavily petaled blooms, totally obscuring the centers, that I was in awe of their progress.

It seemed that the two were in competition with each other, seeing which one could outgrow and outbloom the other. The last time I saw them, not long ago this winter, they were resting like they were just pausing....waiting for the train (winter), to pass, so that they can resume their journey in beautifying my rose garden.

I’m so glad they worked out for you, Moses. I bet Altman grew both of those plants since they seem to have the license to all Pim Lim’s varieties. Besides roses Pim Lim also breeds other species such as this Atomic Bloom Agapanthus

Ben, what nice Agapanthus you have there. You know, if cited carefully, Agapanthus can be grown in Pittsburgh, possibly not all the varieties, but one whose name I cannot tell was growing in a public garden not far from me with no winter protection. I actually prefer Agapanthus over day lilies.

True love was new for me last season and it bloomed it little head off. Im looking forward to season 2. I will check out Home Depot to see if they stock any of the others.
