Stripes on limestone?

Hi All,
We have a limestone surround on our front door that was discolored when it went in, so our builder had it cleaned and it looked much better. However, I am now noticing diagonal stripes appearing on more and more areas. Has anyone seen this? Is this from a bad cleaning job? Is it naturally in the stone but somehow wasn’t originally visible?
