Hello, can you advise me? One of my trees grew a lot of new branches last year, they grow from the bud immediately from yellow to white. Whole last seasson most of the branches stop growing around 1 cm and later fall off, others grow to a dwarf size and later also fall off or remain, but completely yellow, stunted, with yellow leaves. pH 6.5, regularly fertilized, watering with soapy water or, if with well water, I lower the PH of watering to 6. Old leaves is still on the plant and still healthy big and green. Two years before he was healthy, vital and had 3 lemons. Roots looks healty and yellow Thank you

"....... watering with soapy water" Oh my! There is no place for soaps/ detergents/ other household surfactants in the soil of any plant, no matter where it's grown. Any of these products destroy root lipid membranes, which makes normal root function impossible. May I ask where you got the idea from (soapy water)?

There is no such thing as a healthy plant growing on an unhealthy root system. Put another way, the plant can only be as healthy as its root system allows.

My Meyer lemon did this at one point. Add two to 3ml of ”Cal Mag Plus“ in your watering schedule (depending on size of tree), each week for 3-4 weeks and it will fix this. Here’s my 8 year old Meyer. Cal mag made the leaves huge and green!

You do understand that the only way an application of Cal/Mag can beneficial is when Ca and Mg are deficient, AND they are are the most serious deficiencies of all the essential nutrients? E.g., if nitrogen or any other nutrient aside from Ca/Mg is most deficient, an application of Cal/Mag has more potential to be limiting than beneficial. For a better understanding re what I just said, read/understand Liebig's Law of the Minimum.

Properties like growth, yields, vitality, can only expected to be proportional to the nutrient in shortest supply, and increasing the supply of nutrients which are in the soil and available at adequate levels has no potential to improve those properties - only to limit them. So while it might have proven to be very beneficial to your tree, there is no reason that others should expect the same effects except within the very narrow set of parameters I already outlined.
