I've had the same issue at times. The pots I had didn't have the side holes. I do sometimes push something through the hole of the bottom pot toward the one inside. But admittedly it's not a job for one person. Sometimes I have to get help.

Where there is a will there is a way, yes brilliant! Water can work as well especially if used pots were stacked.

I will give that a try Paula! I never thought of that.

Good idea Paula! I have thrown small pieces of the lannon stone I find all over my yard into the bottom of each pot so they don’t stick. Seems to work for me.

i often have to unstick white hontractor buckets. They have no holes at all and form a tight vacuum. My trick is to insert a tool edge in the slit separating the two rims and twist.

I tend to clamp the bottom pot or bucket between my feet and twist off the top one. A hold on four points plus torque usually works. I'll have to try the stick, it would hold the two foot points more securely.

Throw them on the driveway to heat up in afternoon sun...and see if they don't expand and come apart easily.. crikey woman... you are in FL...lol...

Sadly, Ken the heat is what puts the vapor lock on them. Best show ever.

Another trick you can use is to take a length of garden twine and thread it through the holes like that stick. When you stack the pots, you leave the twine running up between the pots and out the edge. The twine creates a gap, and it's easier to pull up on the twine to pull the pot out. I've done that sometimes if I'm stacking up a lot of pots to help ensure they break apart, I'll do twine every 5 pots or so. I haven't had to stack pots like that in a long time though, lol. It can work with buckets too.
