Really not enough information. Are you doing a renovation? Or you're just wondering for resale? Where will you put it if you don't put it under a counter?

A wine fridge will only be good for resale if you sell to wine drinkers.

You could always buy a wine fridge that could be built in in the future if you might renovate at some point. You will pay more for it as built in/undercounter fridges are more expensive. I don't think you'd have to replace all your cabinets if you have a 24" base you could remove but you will have to redo your counter.

Not worth it IMO.

Therefore, a built-in wine cooler may not be a better option andI recommend a freestanding wine cooler. Freestanding wine coolers also look great! For example, my own product does a French door design and a combination wine & beverage cabinet.

Just remember that you can't take ANY wine fridge and make it a built-in. It mostly has to do with placement of the air vents.

Can you post a picture of the space? Is it purely a question of aesthetics regarding freestanding or built-in? We can't really answer without seeing the space. I would, however, not make this decision based on someone who stands to profit from ripping out and replacing.

When you say value, do you mean value of home resale? If you are considering moving anytime soon, I would certainly not do built in. Ripping out the wine fridge was the very first thing we did after closing on our current home.
