Look at Pottery Barn and The Company Store. I don't want to bring you down if you just painted, but the brown blinds and sisal rug aren't working for me with the wall color. If you can't find a duvet or quilt that you like that goes with the wall color maybe you need to repaint. The wall color and spread you have now are cool colors, the blinds (and windows) and rug are warm. They are fighting each other. So choose either warm or cool and bring the other elements into harmony. It's hard to see what the floors are, but it looks like they're warm as well. If so, I would go with warm colors. The black bed will work either way.

What are you going for here? You have a lot of mix/ match neutrals....brown , black, beige and "gold" doesn't seem necessary. What gray and white check, please, as we don't see it. You have one picture, no other angles of the space. The shades look too dark..... the sea grass rug is fine.

Personally? I love a bed in black and white, or charcoal and white. Or even Chocolate and white.

Or a mix of all three. It's layers !

I'd paint wood trim on bench black to repeat bed frame. Also: bedshirt in color of shades, white duvet, one throw pillow in color of shades & bedskirt.

How about this?

Adding warmth to the bedding could pull in the shades and rug. Garnett Hill.
