I would like suggestions/opinions on my dining room window treatment. I'm dying to get rid of the honeycomb shades shown in the pictures. They were here when we bought the house.

I'm wondering if I should take the curtains or drapes all the way to the ceiling or if I should start them just below the arch. The ceiling is 12 feet. The window is at the front of the house and faces south toward the street, so I was thinking of curtains or drapes with maybe sheers underneath so that I could have coverage at night but plenty of light in the daytime. There is an open floor plan, and I'll eventually change out the lighting to something not so heavy. Thanks for any tips or suggestions that are offered.
