What does the kitchen look like as a whole? Cabinets? Walls? Natural light? Surrounding rooms? Open concept? More than floors and tops go into planning a kitchen.

Your floors are very pretty? Are those photos all the same floor?

Do you have a photo of the entire kitchen?

What is the lighting? Direction? Do you have north or southern light coming in? Colors of the cabinets? Backsplash? Hardware is it black, bronze, SS ? You say you want light color to brighten the space? Do you need better lighting?

There are thousands of options in Quartzite or Granite or even Marble that could work with your floors. Do you have a sample of your floor and your cabinet door you could take with you to the stone yard? Bring a flashlight too.

thank you I used the wrong floor photo cookie. Added a closer shot below. My shower has it u sealed and it's bright white. For millworkman, my kitchen is going ro be completely redone- it's an open concept, we live on water so I like the lighter colors. Existing pictures below. I also added the new kitchen layout for reference.

I'd stick with a white Corian, and do the natural wood cabinets that picked up the orangish bit in the terrazzo.

Home Depot has a Blue Dunes, and Lowes has a Brown Persa and a Blue Jeans that are pretty. Dekton (Consentino) has some pretty ones if you are ok with using that product.

Slab yards sometimes have different names for the same stone. I suggest you go to their websites and look at the inventory pictures. They will of course look a bit different in person, but the process can help you decide on where to go and what stone slabs to see.

I would like white cabinets, but honestly trying to find the stone that doesn't compete with the floor is a challenge. So others asked for design details, but I'm starting with the countertop first and building around that.

Terrazzo is a classic that is back in a big way right now. So is wood cabinetry.

imo, the biggest issue in your kitchen is the backsplash. Replace or remove that (and just paint the backsplash wall area in an eggshell finish so that makes it cleanable/:wipeable) - do one of these things, and you have a new kitchen.

I just grabbed a tile for visual below - and it is not the exact /best color choice - but just gives you the general idea.

And you could also add some glass in the doors of a few uppers. Would really open up the space.

As far as a new countertop: The terrazzo, imo, is the star... hands down. There can only be one diva at a time. :)

You could put anything with it - but you potentially dilute, if not negate, the terrazzo. So a plain white counter might be boring to you. But if you are keeping the fabulous terrazzo - that is what I suggest.

This is the direction I'm heading in. Keeping everything natural wood tones and countertop neutral to avoid mixing patterns with the floor. I can attest to everyone the terrazzo floors are worth saving. They got it right in 1956 and I appreciate it!
