Furniture Dilemma

All, this is a 3rd floor loft i am looking to keep one side of the room as an area to watch tv, read, enjoy natural light. Any suggestions on how to decorate?

To enjoy natural light and read you need a comfortable armchair in the window. Angle it in the corner to face the TV, and place a floor lamp behind it for reading after dark. Get a footstool for it and a side table.

Then a sofa or loveseat on the wall opposite the window. Get soft rounded armrests that are cozy to nap and watch TV. A coffee table for it that can be a game table too. A side table and table lamp.

For decor I like prints of vintage travel posters. Get throw pillows in the same colors.

Can you draw a simple layout on paper with measurements included? How many people do you want to be able to seat in this space.

That is not a floor plan to scale so unless you want to do that IMO no more help. You need to show windows doorways and every meausrement clearly marked or we have no clue where to put anything . Post here in jpeg format in a comment DO NOT start another post . Is this the only place for a TV ?

You might try Roman shades on the windows, and then look at a small bench (or chair) in the nook area. If possible you might look at apartment sized furniture, or just using swivel chairs, to watch the TV. Below are some images that show a variety of ideas. Please look to the built-in benches, armchairs, swivel chairs, chaise lounges, small sofa, and other benches.

If you’re considering adding chair or sofa, choose something in a complementary color to break up the grey. Earthy tones like deep greens or warm browns work well with mineral colors and grey. A comfortable armchair in a rich fabric like velvet or linen would add texture. These colors will look good in the sunlight, as for me.

You could look at a small settee, or a comfy chair, to place in the window area. Then if you have space you could look at an apartment sized loveseat, or a chair facing the TV. Notice the furniture used in each of our designs we have included here.
