Nasty little beetles, so sorry you are still having that issue. Lillian's Vapor trail looks good. Mine had been struggling, so I moved it last fall. I think I planted 4 fans. I see 9 scapes on it, and looks like it has at least 9 fans on it. I guess it just needed to be nudged. I always enjoy your bee pollen daylily, the look I love. Lovely rose too.

I really like Lillian's Vapor Trail--especially the shape. Your seedling is beautiful. It's too bad those nasty bugs got to it. Hopefully, it will rebloom. Do those bugs die down after a while or are a bother all season? I also love the old rose. Does it have a nice fragrance?

Nancy and Sherry-Debra’s LTI always looks so good and has a shape and form I like better but it has never multiplied well for me.

Nan, the insects show up at the beginning of the season and go through several weeks so they can do lots of damage. One of my large beds will have no blooms this year. Tonight I sent an SOS email to an entomologist at a state university to ask for control assistance. A second year of this is very depressing!

Kate: I'm so sorry about those &*#!! bugs on your daylilies. I'll be interested in what the university says. If they are mating and then pupating in your fields maybe blasting the adults before they mate for a couple of years might have an effect. However if they are coming in from across the state that wouldn't work..........I received Pea Green With Envy this year. It's still establishing itself in its pot. Doesn't look all that vigorous though. We will see......I like Heavenly Dark Matters. One of my least favorite color combinations (white with eye) but this one is very pretty.....The rose is beautiful. Sigh on JBs. They are another pest you have to deal with and it doesn't seem fair to have both..................Maryl

I'm so sorry about those bugs! Your bee pollen baby is always one of my favorites. Some kind of bug is starting to decimate buds in my seedling bed. I've sprayed. How are the deer treating you? My Deer Out isn't working this year. I've already lost most of the buds on Sweeten Creek and all the buds on two of my older seedlings.

Lillian's Vapor Trail is looking Good. It doesn't look like my Lillian's Thin Ice will bloom this time. It has tiny, tiny fans. Apparently it didn't like January's below zero temps. I love the looks of your rose!

Maryl, Heavenly Dark Matter is a light yellow base with a greenish cast here. Very early morning pics tend to whiten the color of light yellows, but it could just look different for Kate. The eye here is more reddish.

I'm afraid I would be nuking the garden if I had to deal with those bugs. Earwigs are bad enough. How does Mint Octopus do for you?

Maryl, Mantis is correct about Heavenly Dark Matter-it is a very pale yellow and actually that color combo is one of my least favorite.

Debra, I hate to say that so far my deer spray is working because tomorrow I may go out and see all my buds gone! I do like my bee pollen lily. I just wish it multiplied more.

Mantis, I would rather deal with deer, grubs, earwigs, grasshoppers, stray cows all at once than these bugs. I cannot begin to list all the daylilies that will not show a bloom this year.
