You will get more help if you provide more information. Do you want to gut and redo your kitchen? What is your budget? Have you hired a CKD?

A faucet is one of the last and least significant decisions you will need to make.

  • last year

Yes gut and rehab 15k budget I have not hired any one

  • last year

    Same layout?

For 15k - I'm assuming that you're keeping the cabinets? Maybe painting them?

  • last year

    I would prefer new cabinets

It's always difficult to give cost advice here, but I would be very surprised if you can buy all new cabinets for a $15K total budget. Your dollars will go much further if you keep the cabinets and refinish the doors. Even then, appliances and countertops are apt to be more than $15K, and that still leaves lighting and flooring.

Can you provide some pictures of what modern elegant means to you?

    New appliances needed?

Delete your other post and add that picture to this post.

How long have you lived in the home?

Unfortunately, you won't get a gut job for $15K. A touchless faucet can be $500 & up. Low end Appliances can run you $5000.

I would save until I could do the job right.

Honestly, I was barely able to bring in a kitchen that was 7 feet by 7 feet with Formica counters and a sheet vinyl floor and very basic appliances in for $15,000 back in 1996.

Those cabinets, although there are not many drawers, look to be in good shape and are current looking with the slab doors.

To get an idea about how far your budget will go, look at a big box website and price out the appliances you like.

I did a quick look, the lowest level stainless suite at Lowes is around 2k. Slide range, hood/micro combo, basic fridge and dishwasher. Not elegant.

I just looked at the inspiration photos you saved in your kitchen and bedroom folders. The most common look you saved is white shaker with a medium-light wood floor, stainless steel appliances. This look is a popular update these days. Is that what you want?

Look at IKEA for value priced quality cabinets. All drawer lowers are recommended.

Let’s not get caught up in the price I am looking for ideas 💡

IKEA Vedhamn are European Oak cabinets made in Hungary. US makers cannot match that wood species by using rift cut red and white oak. Engineered flooring from many suppliers like Monarch Plank uses that species. You can match the floor to the cabinets. Quartzite for counter and bs. Delete the ovens in favor of counter and choose an induction range Bosch industrial. Move the dw to the end of the run with the sink next to it. I'd choos a 24" or 27" sinkbase. All lowers wide as possible drawers. 4" recessed task lighting located 6" in from the edge of the counter to avoid shadowing the work zone. Counter depth 4 door frig with no thru the door ice.

You can post a scale layout with lots of measurement info to move things farther.

Is it possible that you could remove the soffit or at least make it as shallow as the upper cabinets? Knowing that will have an impact on the possibilities and the ideas presented.

Your cabinets seem in good shape and have a clean, streamlined look. I think they would paint or stain up nicely especially if you go for a very modern feel. Would suggest you replace the backsplash and flooring as well as countertops. New modern looking stainless appliances will give your kitchen a timeless feel. Keep the ceiling fan. It looks good.

Sooooooo.... The house is on the market, so not sure if OP is looking to purchase.

Continue the hardwoods in the kitchen and other areas for starters!

15K is not going to get you where you want to be. Double 15K is not going to get you where you want to be. 4x that amount is where a kitchen redo starts, and that's with a lot of DIY labor contributions.

For 15K, that is DIY painting the cabinets, DIY vinyl floors over the tile, and you might be able to squeeze in new laminate counters. But probably not if that tile goes into adjacent areas.

The layout seems good. What's on the other side of the fridge? Does it project into the kitchen as much as it appears to do in the photo? I'd consider recessing it or getting a counter depth version.

I'd consider taking off that floating upper to the right of the sink and replacing it with shelves or leaving it open.

I like the cabinets but not the soffit. I'd consider saving the uppers if possible, removing the soffit and then adding new boxes on top to run the cabinets up to the ceiling.

The OP did correct that it is $51K

    Hmmmmmmmm.....

People don't know what they don't know. Better she ask here than buy the house thinking that 15k would buy an updated dream kitchen.

  • last year

I don't see anywhere that the house is on the market. Did I miss that?

If it is, I would not do anything to the kitchen. Much has been written lately about redoing things just for resale and then it doesn't meet a potential buyers taste and you never recoup your money.

No Kate - You did not miss it. I searched for it(public information) - due to the vagueness of the OP responses.

15k later changed to 51k is quite specific for such a vague post…

I have no clue what you are wanting from us why are asking about a faucet that is a long way from what you have going on. Ask the question with proper info then you will get help This makes no sense and either do any of you answers make sense The budget drives every choice you make belive me . If you cannot give info IMO you do not get help. BTW a to scale floor plan is a must showing every window , doorway where those lead every measurement clearly marked and some clue as to your style . All posted here in jpeg format in a comment DO NOT start an other post .

Cindy, first YOU find photos of modest dream kitchens you like. Then you ask if your kitchen can be remodeled into your dream kitchen. Right now there are too many options for this kitchen.

There's no room for an island, so you'll just be replacing cabinets, appliances, flooring, lighting, countertops, plumbing fixtures & backsplash. That will be $40-50k minimum with mid-level priced cabinets and appliances. Do you want white cabinets, painted cabinets or wood finish cabinets? All those decisions affect the price.

Sounds like the OP has made an offer on this house, or is thinking about doing so, and so wants some ideas on what can be done to update the kitchen. She wouldn't have detailed measurements at this point, just idea gathering. Nothing wrong with that IMO.

I am not a fan of touchless faucets. It’s because the ones that I use at the airport often quit working due to cast vacation overtime. What I do love, and I am on my second one is the tap master, which is a foot pedal operated faucet. It works for any faucet.
